Parent Coaching and Support

Parenting doesn’t come with a manual, and every stage brings new challenges—from toddlerhood to adulthood. Whether your child is 3 or 30, parent coaching provides personalized support and guidance tailored to your unique family needs and parenting goals. Using a skills-based approach rooted in behavioral parent training, I help parents strengthen their parenting toolbox, navigate difficult moments, and foster healthier, more positive relationships with their children.

What is SPACE Parent Coaching?

Does your child struggle with chronic anxiety, frequent meltdowns, or a fear of being alone? Are they avoiding school, social situations, or everyday tasks because they feel overwhelmed or scared? Do you find yourself walking on eggshells or changing your routine to prevent your child from becoming distressed? Is your child refusing traditional therapy? You’re not alone, and there is an effective way to help your anxious child without requiring their direct participation in therapy.

Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) is an evidence-based parent coaching program developed by Eli Leibowitz at the Yale Child Study Center. Unlike traditional child therapy, SPACE focuses on teaching parents how to respond to their child’s anxiety in ways that reduce accommodating behaviors that unintentionally reinforce fear, while increasing supportive responses that build resilience. Research shows SPACE can significantly reduce child anxiety, even when children are unwilling or unable to engage in therapy themselves.

As a parent coach trained in SPACE, your therapist will work closely with you to understand your child’s unique anxiety profile and provide practical tools for long-term change. You’ll learn how to respond with confidence and compassion, helping your child face their fears and strengthening your parent-child relationship along the way.

Behavioral Parent Training

In addition to working with parents managing anxiety, we offer specialized support through behavioral parent training. If you’re facing challenges with your child’s behavior—such as self-harm, aggression, substance use, etc—we can help you develop effective strategies to promote adaptive behaviors and reduce conflict at home. Behavioral parent training teaches parents clear, consistent techniques rooted in research to improve communication, set boundaries, and reinforce desirable behaviors.

Whether your child is young or a teenager, behavioral parent training empowers you to create a calmer, more cooperative family environment and build lasting skills that support your child’s growth and well-being.

If you’re seeking expert parent coaching to help your anxious or challenging child, we offer compassionate, research-backed approaches tailored to your family’s unique needs.
